The town of Ville Platte, Louisiana is home to some pretty amazing stuff.

We’ve got Le Festivale de la Viande Boucanee (Smoked Meat Festival) in June, The Cotton Festival and Le Tournoi de la Ville (a modern-day jousting competition) in October, and Floyd’s Record Shop (the definitive source for authentic Cajun and Louisiana music established in 1956) is open Tuesday thru Saturday until 4:30. And don’t forget, Ville Platte is also the hometown of the world-famous Slap Ya Mama Cajun Seasonings. Feel free to stop by anytime. If nobody answers the bell, probably best to just head on over to the outdoor kitchen for an ice-cold refreshment of your choice.
